New adapters for PinPoint Trigger

New Adapters for the good old PinPoint Trigger: Now compatible with not only AirArms EV-2 / FTP-900, but also with Feinwerkbau, Steyr and Walther rifles. (For Feinwerkbau rifles, the blade fits also onto the original trigger holder directly, but the adapter gives an extra 6 mm to the longitudinal adjustment range.)

I’m still pondering on the more extreme offset versions, I can design one this is not a problem, but I’d recommend to keep the trigger blade in the symmetry plane of the rifle. Originally, I designed my offset trigger blade for bringing it back to the axis because my FWB has got a double trigger rail and the factory trigger couldn’t be central at all. This is only a side effect that if you rotate it out, the same trigger system works as a 9.6 mm offset trigger. I think that an offset up to 40 mm wouldn’t be a problem to design, though. I hope that this 40 mm would be more than enough for anybody, right?

FolloWing – 10 Adapters!

New FolloWing adapters in the webshop, we’ve got 10 different adapters now :-)

Adapter - 10x

FolloWing Adapters are available for these butt-hooks at the time, and connects to them on many versatile ways, depending on the original design. In most cases you can simply fit the adapter and remove it any time you want. For some hooks, you have to drill one or two small holes onto the original wing, to give a stable connection for the FolloWing system

The FolloWing-compatible hook systems are:

  • AirArms EV-2 — connects to the original upper wing
  • AirArms FTP-900 — connects to the original upper wing (you have to drill a 4 mm hole into the wing)
  • Anschütz 4765 — connects to the original upper wing (you have to drill two 4 mm holes into the wing)
  • Brian’s Hook (simple) — connects to a link element, instead of the original upper wing
  • Brian’s Hook (advanced) — connects to the base or a link element, with an extra rotation axis
  • Feinwerkbau P70 hook — connects to the original upper wing
  • MEC Free Position — connects to the original upper wing (you have to drill two 4 mm holes into the wing)
  • Steyr LG-100/110 — replaces the original upper wing
  • System Gemini (simple) — connects to the link element, instead of the original upper wing
  • System Gemini (advanced) — connects to the link element, with an extra rotation axis

I think that this list covers 99% of the butt-hook used in FT, but if you have got any other hook and would like me to design an adapter for you, just get in touch and I’ll design your own adapter! I’ll need some photos and measurements, however the ideal case is when we meet on a competition and I can do the measuring myself.

These adapters allow you to buy only one FolloWing Universal and use it on many different rifles, keeping the position of the wing on each rifle’s adapter.

The adapter sits on the upper wing, and connects with two M4 screws to the wing plate.

Also this adapter sits on the upper wing, held by one M4 screw that has to be drilled in the place of the middle rubber button.

Both adapters need some new holes on the original hook but no major change, cutting or other modifying is needed.

EV-2 and MEC Adapters

Last weekend I had the chance to measure some common FT-hooks, these are my first new designs:

AirArms EV-2 adapter
Very easy intallation, the adapter fits to the existing holes on the EV-2 hook wing and a flanged domed head M4 srew holds it on its place.

You have to drill two holes into the upper wing, right in the middle points between the rubber buttons.

PinPoint Adapter for EV-2 / FTP-900

Good news, my new style PinPoint trigger blades now are compatible with AirArms EV-2 / FTP-900 rifles. I designed 3 adapters for shooters with short/normal/long fingers. The new adapters give an adjustment range of 30 mm (from 12 to 42 mm, measured from the action frame behind the trigger), instead of the original 14 mm (17-31 mm).

The new adapter system is using my PinPoint Trigger blades. I designed these blades after a couple years of experimenting. They have many advantages, and this all for less than the half of a machined metal trigger blade:

  • Extremely precise trigger control
  • Wide range of surfaces (pyramids, grooves, ridges, flat shapes etc.)
  • Two sides with two variations of the chosen surface
  • Warm surface, extremely good for winter competitions
  • Horizontal design so it gives always the same trigger weight
  • Wide flat surface that gives the feel of the pulling direction
  • Trigger blade can be exactly in the symmetry plane
  • Or rotated by 180° gives an offset of 9.6 mm to the side

PinPoint

Short version: For shooters who used to struggle with the trigger position, 5 mm closer than ever before, distance 12-25 mm. The blade can be in two positions, 1. in the symmetry axis, 2. with 9.6 mm offset.

Length Range - Short PinPoint-EV2-Short

Normal version: Roughly the same as the original trigger blade’s position was, distance 19-30 mm

How FolloWing Works

This product converts the original Feinwerkbau butt-plate to a revolutionary new one. The original upper wing is held by an adjustable structure and is connected by a hinged joint (can be fixed though), so the wing holds the weight of the rifle but its position can always adapt to the shooter’s body.

When shooting standing, kneeling, sitting, uphill or downhill, the upper wing lies always with its full surface on the shoulder. Notice as the wing adapts to the different positions. See also the photo:

My First Shoot with FolloWing

MFTA Masters & Clubs Cup, Castle.

After the beta-testing at Byley, I used the FWB with FolloWing (prototype of the new adaptive butt-plate) and with the new round PinPoint trigger blade. Quite cold weather but the plastic trigger blade gave a warm feeling and a sure contact. Also the new butt-plate worked well, I had a stable position through the competition, missed only two targets, both because of the wind. The new parts didn’t seem to work too badly:

– also won the Golden Bunny, 1st time in my life :-)
– and got the trophy for my 4th place in MFTA Winter League series today, too.
