Maestro Design proudly presents a new modification for Feinwerkbau Alutec stocks. I know I should give it a fancy name but haven’t got any new idea now :-(
As we all know, Feinwerkbau stocks have two serious disadvantage for FT shooters. One is common with all other rifles, the cheek piece is too low because most rifles have been designed for iron sights or diopters. The other one is more FWB-specific, that the grip can’t be moved because it sits on the stock itself. My stock modification elevates the rear stock by 50 mm, and allows to use a fully adjustable custom grip.
The hole in the middle is not only fancy design or saving material. As you can see on the X-ray picture, the hole contains two tunnels where we can slide the square nuts in, but it has some other possible uses, too (see the pictures at the end of the post).
And the above model freshly sintered and built into the stock:
The grip connects to the bottom and can be moved, rotated, also can have an offset, anything you want. But you can use the original grip as well.
Opening of a new chapter in history of target shooting: the Thumb Hole Technique! No need to use the grip at all, the hand can hang on the stock without any tension, and we have a definite feel of the correct pull direction…
Another (and a bit more realistic) use of the thumb hole:
I replaced some parts of the forend mechanism, too. It is surprisingly strong, even when doesn’t look as cool as the steel parts. My future plans are to replace the original stainless steel structure totally and to use Sinter3D parts everywhere it is possible.
